Roles of food components on growth, development, as well as in the prevention of diseases such as cardiovascular disease. Investigation of the roles of fatty acids in development, and functionalities of human placental trophoblasts and their preferential transport to the fetus.
Research on the anti-platelet and anti-hypertensive properties of fruits and vegetables.
My patented discoveries of anti-thrombotic factors in tomatoes and kiwifruits are now being commercialized by companies including the Norwegian Biotech Company, IDIA AS.
I also hold several international patents.
Teaching
I teach ERN3200, ERN 3100, MED1100, MED2200 courses.
I have supervised 35 PhD/MD students so far.
