The Centre for Global Health is inviting leading researchers, institutions and policy makers to hear about their experiences and latest findings in the fields of mental health and conflict at an open seminar within the yearly Global Mental Health Day. The incidence of HIV and other STIs among people aged 60 to 89 years is increasing in some regions of the world. More awareness about the issue, stigma reduction and preventive measures are needed, according to a new Lancet Healthy Longevity study. 

This study investigates the effect of the health component in DigI, a digital health intervention, aiming to increase health literacy related to HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Taenia solium cysticercosis/taeniosis. Both quantitative and qualitative methods will be applied, measuring the change in health literacy in individuals recruited through a non-randomised controlled trial, before and after the intervention (see below). 

The writing of scientific research papers is an essential part of being a Ph.D. student and a researcher within the field of Global Health. But how do you write good scientific papers and how do editors work with scientists of submitted papers? At this year's National PhD Conference in Global Health we had the opportunity to learn from one of the best within the field, Dr. Richard Horton, Editor-in-Chief at The Lancet.

The Lancet Countdown: Tracking Progress on Health and Climate Change exists to monitor this transition from threat to opportunity, and to identify how the response to climate change can bring immense benefits to global health.

The Centre for Global Health is proud to present its new cross-cutting theme, Gender in global health. The launch of this new initiative is celebrated with an online event in collaboration with Women in Global Health Norway and will highlight community gender equity in health efforts across Africa.

Report from PRIO seminar on Sexual Violence as a Weapon of War: Reflections on the 2018 Nobel Peace Prize, 11 December 2018

SACCADE is building capacity in research and research education in public health, health sciences and primary health care systems in Africa in general and Ethiopia in particular.

The Nobel Peace Prize 2018 is awarded to Nadia Murad and Dr. Denis Mukwege for their efforts to end the use of sexual violence as a weapon of war and armed conflict.
