Our group has several research projects:
- AUTOLIPID - Several lipid-binding proteins were identified and characterized as novel regulators of non-selective and selective types of autophagy through this project (Toppforsk grant from the Research Council of Norway)
- AUTOSELECT – Studies the mechanisms of selective autophagy in neurodegenerative disease (funded by the Research Council of Norway)
- Understanding the role for HS1BP3, a negative regulator of autophagy, in gastric cancer (a project supported by the Norwegian Cancer Society).
- Unravelling the role of mitophagy in cancer development (a project funded by Helse Sør-Øst) focuses on elucidation of the mechanisms involved in hypoxia-induced mitophagy and their importance for the Warburg effect.
- Exploring the localization and functions of BEACH-domain containing proteins (BDCPs) in the endocytic and secretory pathways (funded by UiO).
