Professor Janna Saarela to join the Cellular and Molecular Biology group of the Academy’s Natural Sciences Division

Diabetes, organ donation, consciousness, the immune system, evidence in rape cases, mental illnesses, medicinal plants and cancer. These are societal challenges that will be examined in interdisciplinary life science research groups at the University of Oslo.

Muhammad Asaduzzaman will join the One Health research Group, focusing on antimicrobial resistance (AMR).

Research led by Irep Gözen, head of the Bionanotechnology and Membrane Systems Group, is being presented at the Biophysical Society Annual Meeting in Baltimore, USA. The findings have also been highlighted in the Norwegian national newspaper, Aftenposten

Six new teams have been admitted to UiO´s innovation programme SPARK Norway. They will develop their ideas within health-related life sciences for the benefit of patients and society.

Last week Professor Tippawan Liabsuetrakul from the Faculty of Medicine, Prince of Songkla University, Thailand, visited the Centre for Global Health and the Department of Community and Global Health at University of Oslo, to explore possibilities of collaboration between the University of Oslo and Prince of Songkla University.
