Background

I have been employed at the faculty since 2000. In the period from 2000 to 2007, I was at what is now Helsam, and in 2012 to 2013, I was a staff member in Klinmed's administration. Otherwise, I have worked in the faculty administration. This has given me a good understanding of all levels at the faculty.

For most of that time, I have worked in Human Resources. It has provided me with knowledge of the important prioritisations the institutes must constantly do in terms of finance and financing models, long-term planning of staffing needs, teaching needs and recruitment, among other things. I co-ordinate the faculty's HR network, which currently consists of 15 people from the four units. This gives me valuable insight into what is happening at the institute level.

For the last couple of years I have increasingly worked with HSE, which has given me insight into new parts of the faculty.

My educational background: Master of Arts in Asian Studies (UNSW), Bachelor in Social Sciences (UiO).

Program

  • As a representative of the technical and administrative staff, this group's interests will be an important part of my perspective. All our employee groups together form the basis for achieving common goals and achieving the best results in education, research and dissemination.
  • The Faculty Board should set overall goals, priorities and strategies for the Faculty. These are decisions that concern the core of the faculty's activities. I believe that the faculty board should continue to work at an overall level.
  • All faculty units should have predictable and clear framework conditions so that they can make good quality plans and achieve their best possible everyday operation and goal achievement.
  • Furthermore, the institutes should have as much autonomy as possible. This can make the institutes better able to adapt their operations to their own needs. I believe decisions made at the lowest possible level, more often than not are the best decisions.
