Position of trust

I am of French origin and established in Oslo since 1995. I have worked at the Institute of Basic Medical Sciences since 1999, first as researcher on a career stipend from the Cancer Society, then as Professor since 2003. I have headed the then-Department of Biochemistry in 2012-2016 and the Department of Molecular Medicine since 2017. My administrative experience is therefore significant and I have solid knowledge of teaching programs - and their challenges, at the Faculty, particularly regarding Modules 1 and 2. My research profile encompasses stem cell biology, gene regulation and epigenetics, and architecture of the cell nucleus, using molecular and cell biology approaches on various disease cellular models.  For more details, please see my presentation.

With an engineering education in France, a PhD in the USA, and work experience in the private and university sectors, I have a broad and active international network. I have led close to 25 externally funded projects in Norway, including several transdisciplinary projects.  I have been vice-director of the Norwegian Center for Stem Cell Research (2008-2018) and a member of the Norwegian Academy of Sciences since 2006.
