Introduction and considerations
NTS staff gives free advice within the areas of their expertise, such as production and preservation of transgenic animals and metabolic phenotyping of mice.
NTS has developed information documents and service forms that will be provided upon request. Questions that are not related to routine procedures will be answered on an individual basis. For demanding projects, customers may have to meet with representatives from NTS to clarify details. Such clarifying meetings will be free of charge. If the project requires comprehensive analysis, a tentative recommendation as well as an estimate for future costs to perform an extensive analysis will be provided.
Established customers and collaborators will of course get the support needed to finalize a project run in collaboration with NTS.
Description of the service
NTS offers advice regarding:
- Vector design for pronuclear injection.
- Design of CRISPR projects (sgRNA design, cloning etc.).
- Choice of mouse strain for e.g. injection projects.
- Biopsy sampling, DNA purification and genotyping.
- Methods for analyzing DNA constructs and transgenic mice.
- Breeding set up for rederivations and cryopreservation.
- Culturing of embryonic stem cells (prior to blastocyst injection).
- Mouse colony management.
- Mouse genetics including coat color genetics.
- And more.
Conditions
- Depending on the nature and the extent of the work involved, advice may be charged an hourly salary
