Terms NHJE projects: For projects where NTS has designed and in vitro translated sgRNA(s): NTS guaranties delivery of 4+ genetically altered offspring (out of 25+ offspring) or at least one ‘successful’ founder. A ‘successful founder’ has a genetic alteration(s) resulting in frame shift (or stop codon) in the protein coding sequence.
If NTS delivers no founders that can be considered ‘successful’, the customer will be charged parts of the injection cost fee (3 founders – 90%, 2 founders 80%, 1 founder 60%).
For projects where the customer has designed and delivered sgRNAs, NTS will deliver 25+ offspring and charge full injection costs regardless of the outcome. If no genetically altered founders are found in 25+ screened offspring, NTS will conclude that the sgRNA does not work.
NTS may start over with a new sgRNA if the customer wish so. HDR projects: HDR-editing is more technically advanced and less reliable compared to NHJE-editing. HDR projects requires some protocol adjustments and will required more time to complete. The customer can expect generation of many genetically modified founders due to NHJE repair (various random genetic alterations in the locus without inserting the mutation).
NTS will perform injections until 30+ founders are delivered. With delivery of 1+ correctly modified founder, the customer will be charged full injection costs. Delivery of 3 or less genetically altered founders (e.g. NHJE modifications), but no correctly modified founder, among 30+ offspring will give 40% reduction in the injection fee. NTS may continue injection after 30 live births, but both the customer and NTS have the option to cancel further injections.
The costs of such injections will be 15 000 NOK/day. Restrictions: NTS develops new animal model on a collaborative basis. The partner reimburses running cost and a person named by NTS co-authors the first publication.

NTS offer a guarantee of success within the following terms:
The success rate for Tg-injections are around 10% positive founders. NTS will inject until delivery of 30+ offspring and the customer can expect delivery of 3+ founders (with the construct integrated at different chromosomal locatons).
Projects with delivery of no founders in 30 offspring will be charged 60% of the injection fee (and the project terminated). Delivery of 1 founder will incur 80%, and 2 founders or more 100% of the injection fee. NTS may opt to continue injection after 30 offspring, but both NTS and the customer have the option to cancel further injections.
Restrictions: NTS develops new animal models on a collaborative basis. The partner reimburses running cost and a person named by NTS co-authors the first publication.

Terms: The planned number of injections should normally give rise to 2+ males with more than 30% chimerism. If this is not achieved NTS will perform one more day of injections at no extra cost. Certain conditions apply:
- The customer will be responsible for all ES cell work and must arrange ES cell culturing elsewhere. NTS will be responsible for providing sufficient blastocysts on the planned injection days, perform blastocyst injections, and implant into foster mothers.
- NTS and the customer will agree on a number of injection days, and the customer is responsible for delivering high quality ES cells on the agreed injection days (4 days). Failure to deliver ES cells on planned days will be charged 15 000 NOK or be counted as one “performed injection” day (to cover the costs for hormone injected animals that can not be used another day).
- High pluripotency of the injected ES cells is critical for a successful blastocyst injection. NTS will visually inspect the ES cells and perform a minimal quality check at the day of delivery, but this inspection will be insufficient to determine pluripotency of the ES cells.
- Due to uncertainties with the quality of the delivered ES cells, NTS cannot give any guaranty for success. Customer will be charged the full cost for 4 injections days, regardless of outcome.
Restrictions: NTS develops new animal models on a collaborative basis. The partner reimburses running cost and a person named by NTS co-authors the first publication.
