Kurs i etikk for leger i alders- og sykehjemsmedisin

Solid research is the basis for all new innovations. However, too often data generated in academia turns out to be irreproducible by others and therefor fail in translation to new products and treatments. What does it take to achieve reproducible high quality data?

The non-disclosure of a cancer diagnosis is relatively common in India. Studies have shown that many cancer patients are unaware of their disease. But how exactly is non-disclosure working in a hospital setting? What are patients told when they are not told that they have cancer?

Dr. Günter Klambauer, Institute for Bioinformatics, Johannes Kepler University Linz, Austria, will present the lecture "Deep Learning methods in early-stage drug discovery."

Speaker: Marieke Kuijjer, Group Leader for Computational Biology and Systems Medicine, Norwegian Centre for Molecular Medicine (NCMM), University of Oslo.

The first meeting of the One Health Lancet Commission will take place in Oslo on the 9th and 10th of May 2019. The meeting will bring together the worlds top researchers from the field of One Health.

So how can you get your ducks in a row to prepare for a successful product, and how early should you start this process? The answer: begin with the end in mind by creating and using a Target Product Profile (TPP).

Speaker: Anne-Laure Boulesteix, Professor, Institute of Medical Informatics, Biometry and Epidemiology, Fafulty of Medicine, LMU Munich, Germany.

Dr. Anne-Laure Boulesteix, associate professor at the Department of Medical Informatics, Biometry and Epidemiology of the Faculty of Medicine, Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, Germany, will present her lecture "A plea for benchmarking and against fishing expeditions with focus on the statistical analysis of omics data."

Professor Nenad Ban, of  ETH Zurich, will give the talk: "Protein synthesis: from ribosome assembly to targeting of membrane proteins". The seminar is the first in a series on biological single particle cryo-electron microscopy.

National law and European directives, regulations and guidelines regulate development of medicinal product and medical devices. A product's successful journey from research to market and eventually patients requires a well-designed regulatory strategy and several consultations with regulatory authorities.

The talk draws on his forthcoming book The Soul of Care: The Moral Education of a Husband and Doctor.
