ERC Advanced Grant
Advanced Grants are designed to support excellent Principal Investigators at the career stage at which they are already established research leaders with a recognised track record of research achievements. Principal Investigators must demonstrate the ground-breaking nature, ambition and feasibility of their scientific proposal.
The call will open on 29 May 2024.
New aspects for the 2024 AdG call
- The application template for the CV has been changed. CV and track record are merged and can be up to 4 pages
- The high-risk/high-gain evaluation criteria has been removed
- Some changes to the evaluation procedure
- Lump sum funding model
Eligibility
ERC Advanced Grant Principal Investigators are expected to be active researchers and to have a track record of significant research achievements. The PI time commitment must be at least 30 %. Resubmission restrictions may also apply.
Funding
Total per project: 2 500 000 EUR
Duration: 5 years
An additional € 1 million can be made available to cover certain costs
- eligible “start-up” costs for researchers moving from a third country to the EU or an associated country and/or
- the purchase of major equipment
- access to large facilities
- other major experimental and field work costs.
ERC AdG 2024 will use a lump sum costing and funding model.
