Norwegian Cancer Society’s Qualification Projects - Accelerating Research Outcome and Patient Impact

The Norwegian Cancer Society (NCS) has an open call focussing on increasing the innovation potential of projects funded by the NCS from 2016-2023. Deadline: 15 October 2024.

In a qualification project, the primary objective is to thoroughly explore and pinpoint the most promising commercial application prospects, including service innovation. This initial investigation lays the groundwork for subsequent technology verification and development. Promising research and innovative solutions often take too long to reach patients. The NCS aims to accelerate this process, particularly for those applications with high patient benefits.

Relevant topics

The call is open to all thematic areas, but the projects must be relevant for cancer.

Who may apply

  • Norwegian university, university college, research institute, hospital, any other institution (e.g. TTO) having research as a part of its non-commercial activities.
  • Company that has been issued an enterprise number under the Norwegian Register of Business Enterprises and that carry out economic activity in Norway.

Funding

Grant size per project is up to NOK 1 million. NCS covers 100% of eligible costs. Project duration 3-12 months.
