NOCC - Travel and networking funds with the University of Minnesota

Norwegian Centennial Chair (NOCC) aims to promote cooperation in research and academic education between UiO, NMBU and the University of Minnesota. Deadline: Open-ended.

The NOCC program supports any research but priority will given to areas that are of significance to the strategic priorities of UiO, NMBU and the University of Minnesota. Priority areas include:

  • Robotics & advanced manufacturing

  • Solutions to environmental challenges

  • Food safety & security (incl. agriculture, aquaculture)

  • Sustainable energy systems

  • Bio-economy and bio-manufacturing

  • Informatics & computation (Big Data)

  • One-Health

  • Innovation in teaching and learning

  • Innovation and entrepreneurship

  • Life sciences

Norwegian Centennial Travel Fellowships for Ph.D. students and Postdocs

Travel fellowships of up to $7,500 will be available to graduate students and postdocs. Applications will be accepted at any time.

Faculty Travel Awards and Networking Supplements

Limited travel awards of up to $2,500 are available to cover some costs associated with transatlantic travel.

Development of Transatlantic Workshops

Transatlantic workshops are intended to facilitate new collaborations in research between the universities. Proposals will be accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis until funding is exhausted. Typical support for a workshop ranges from $5,000 - $20,000.
