The Scientia Fellows Annual meeting 2024 had "Life After Fellowship" as the main focus area.
The conference was useful and enlightening with a programme that was both operational and strategic with presentations of research projects, networking, recruitment tips from the industry itself and insightful lectures about what awaits in working life.
Career paths in the MedTech-industry and academia
Agnete Fredriksen from Nykode Therapeutics, Terje Kolstad from The Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson&Johnson and Kåre Opland from Rekruteria AS shared useful insight into how future employers think when recruiting new employees.
Scientists Helene Knævelsrud and Frans Suurs gave inspiring speeches about different career paths both within academia and the pharmaceutical industry.
We also enjoyed 11 great rapid fire presentations from fellows' projects, spanning from genetics, machine learning, new ways to analyze tumors and T-cells. Fellows Ladislav Hovan and Paula Istvan won the awards for best presented projects.
Thanks to participants and speakers for an afternoon filled with stimulating discussions, valuable insights, and meaningful connections. Your contributions made "Life After Fellowship" move closer and become even more desirable.

The Fellows are talented post doc researchers from the whole world within the fields of Health Life Sciences. Through this programme, co-funded by the European Union, researchers can enhance their career, improve networking and develop new transferable skills.
