Rules regarding Delays

If you are a full time student in the study programme in Medicine, you may be delayed in your studies due to failed exams, health problems or other personal problems. There are limits to how much you can be delayed without having to leave the Programme

  • A programme student who has not passed the examination for a specific semester at the latest three semesters after the student first started the semester, loses the right to continue in the programme. If the missing examination or missing approved instruction is due to an illness that has been documented with a medical certificate within set deadlines, the student may apply to take the examination in the fourth semester after the student first started the semester.
  • A student who is delayed by more than a total of five semesters, loses the right to complete the Programme.
  • An exemption to these rules is only given in special circumstances (for example in the event of a documented illness).
  • Leaves of absence granted by the Faculty do not count as delays.

In joint semesters, the rule for Nutrition students is that the semester must be completed at the latest after the third time that the semester is taught to Nutrition students, which means by the fifth semester after the student started the semester.
