The Women in Global Health (WGH) Norway Secretariat is looking for two new Youth Coordinators for 2023 who aspire to work and influence students and young professionals to become inspired while moving forward in their journey within the global health field. This is a volunteer position (unpaid) and most suitable for young professionals and/or students undergoing a degree in global or public health or a relevant health related degree, and preferably situated in Norway.
This role is for 1 year and afterwards the Youth Coordinators will transition to the growing alumni group. The alumni group acts as mentors to the new incoming youth coordinators allowing for growth and continued work in an engaged network. The training of the new Youth Coordinators is mainly carried out by the previous year’s coordinators with support from the WGH Norway Secretariat.
Who we are
WGH Norway is a chapter in the WGH Global movement, initiated by a diverse group of professionals working in global health, from academics to practitioners, with varied global and interdisciplinary backgrounds. WGH Norway creates a platform for discussion and collaborative space to connect, further strengthen and advocate for gender equality in global health within academia, public and private sectors.
Essential functions
- Create, organize, and promote a professional webinar series with 2-3 webinars in 2023
- Conduct student focused discussions where students will be able to get inspired on different career pathways in global health
- Interact with the alum Youth Coordinators and Secretariat to develop new ways of engaging the younger generation in WGH Norway
- Must be curious and passionate about global health, inequities and finding solutions to challenges
