In connection with the visits from our Ethiopian colleagues, both Professor Abraham Haileamlak Mitike, a child's cardiologist from Ethiopia (appointed Honorary Doctor at UiO), and Dr. Zeleke Mekonnen, a Director of Health Research, Jimma University, Ethiopia, will present on their research topics. Dr. Haileamlak and Dr. Mekonnen are lead collaborators in the EXCEL SMART JUiO NORPART project aimed at enhancing the quality of higher education in Ethiopia and strengthening the academic cooperation between Jimma University and the University of Oslo.

Bios
Dr. Abraham Haileamlak is a Professor of Paediatrics and Child Health and Consultant Pediatric Cardiologist at Jimma University with over twenty five years’experience in health care service in Ethiopia.
Dr. Zeleke Mekonnen is an Associate Professor at Jimma University. His research interests include Neglected Tropical Diseases, epidemiology and control of parasites & zoonotic diseases.
