Do COVID-19 vaccine passports threaten to divide the world by exacerbating global inequalities? This webinar will consider the ethical, legal, and political challenges of vaccine passports. Have privacy and technical issues been fully considered before specific COVID-19 measures have been put into place? (1) According to the European Union Commission, the objective of the COVID-19 vaccine passport policy is to gradually facilitate the free and safe movement of its citizens for work and tourism purposes, which has been stifled by the pandemic for over a year. (2)

This online event will address issues related to vaccination of the global population. What about individuals excluded from the vaccination process due to access to vaccines, medical concerns like pregnancy, ethnic minorities who are hesitant to the vaccines? We will consider the various conflicting interests, legal, political, economic, ethical or individual.

Join this live webinar as Scott Gates, leader of the Policy and Peace Crosscutting Theme at CGH leads invited speakers to discuss and reflect on this timely controversial topic.
