The road to research excellence can be challenging. Examples of challenges research groups face include difficulty in securing adequate funding including seed grants and lack of institutional support (e.g. research mentoring programs). The symposium will focus on such challenges as well as on existing opportunities, with examples from 3 research projects. The Centre for Global Health (CGH) at the University of Oslo (UiO) has provided three research groups with funding from 2019-2021 to assist their advancement towards research excellence in global health.
The Digital Health Promotion in the Global South project led by Josef Noll, The Child, Nutrition and Development (CHNUDEV) project led by Per Ole Iversen, and The Politics of Global health Security project led by Katerini Storeng, will present their projects and share their reflections. In addition, Terje Andreas Eikemo, leader of the Centre for Global Health Inequalities Research (CHAIN) at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), will present his journey towards excellence, followed by a panel discussion.
