The global movement of Women in Global Health (WGH) is working towards establishing a national chapter in Nepal. The Secretariat of the chapter will be at the School of Medical Sciences, Kathmandu University (KU) in Dhulikhel with WGH Norway as its mentoring partner. The chapter will support the global platform to connect, further strengthen and advocate for gender equality in global health within academia and the public and private sectors in Nepal.
The main objective of this online event is to mark International Women's Day 2021 by taking the gender-agenda in health forward. It is an opportunity to share the rich experiences of women from different sectors as much work is still needed to reach gender parity in leadership across high-level positions in academia, non-governmental institutions and private sector institutions related to global health.
