Visit from Jimma University

The Centre for Global Health had the pleasure of hosting the visits of senior research staff from our strategic partner Jimma University, Dean Dr. Legese Chelkeba and Dr. Gudina Terefe, who were in Oslo to present at the 2nd Annual Jimma Seminar last week.

The 2nd Annual Jimma Seminar disseminated the activities of the NORHED: SACCADE program and the NORPART: EXCEL SMART program to promote the capacity development and exchange between University of Oslo and Jimma University. Among the presentations were insights into the new One PhD curriculum in Jimma, the projects of current PhD students under the SACCADE program in Oslo as well as a MOOC in Academic Writing developed in the EXCEL SMART program.

Staff and students involved in the SACCADE and EXCEL SMART program, and from BI Norwegian Business School, OsloMET, NORAD and University of Oslo attended the seminar.

Dean Legese and Dr. Gudina also spent the week meeting academic and adminstrative staff working with the PhD programme at the University in Oslo, and visited potential new partners at OsloMET, Norwegian Institute of Public Health and and The Norwegian University of Life Sciences.
