What does a career in global health look like? There are many opportunities and possible actors to work with, so the road ahead is not always clear. We have invited two speakers to talk about their work in global health. 

MD Wai Phyo Aung at Institute of Health and Society will be defending the thesis “Diabetes mellitus in Yangon Region, Myanmar. Urban-rural difference in prevalence, trends and associated factors” for the degree of PhD (Philosophiae Doctor).

Master Dagmara Bossy at Institute of Health and Society will be defending the thesis “Individualized fellowship? Competing logics of group-based self-management support for long-term conditions” for the degree of PhD (Philosophiae Doctor).

M.Phil. Sara Rivenes Lafontan at Institute of Health and Society will be defending the thesis “Using new fetal heart rate monitoring technology - Experiences and perceptions among skilled birth attendants and laboring women in Tanzania” for the degree of PhD (Philosophiae Doctor).

Master Dagmara Bossy at Institute of Health and Society will give a trial lecture on the given topic: "Empowerment - a strategy for equity in health?"

M.Phil. Sara Rivenes Lafontan at Institute of Health and Society will give a trial lecture on the given topic: "Discuss the evidence, strengths and weaknesses of different methods for intrapartum fetal monitoring, and relate this to challenges in Low- and Middle- Income Countries (LMIC)".

Cand.med. Anette Bakkane Bendixen at Institute of Health and Society will be defending the thesis “Anxiety symptoms among older adults in specialist mental health services” for the degree of PhD (Philosophiae Doctor).

MSc. RN Marianne Fjose at Institute of Health and Society will be defending the thesis “Family challenges in the palliative phase of an elderly family member suffering from cancer.” for the degree of PhD (Philosophiae Doctor).

MSc. RN Marianne Fjose at Institute of Health and Society will give a trial lecture on the given topic: "Ikke medikamentelle sykepleieintervensjoner i hjemmetjenestens palliative omsorg som kan gi pasienter økt livskvalitet."

Professor dr.med. Gunnar Tellnes blir 70 år. Det markeres med boklansering og jubileumsseminar som belyser faglige tema som jubilanten har jobbet med ved Universitetet i Oslo.

Cand.med Torunn Bjerve Eide at Institute of Health and Society will be defending the thesis “General practitioners´ and patients´ experiences and expectations. A comparative study from Norwegian and Nordic general practice; The Quality and Costs of Primary Care in Europe (QUALICOPC) study.” for the degree of PhD (Philosophiae Doctor).

Cand.med Torunn Bjerve Eide at Institute of Health and Society will give a trial lecture on the given topic: "Out-of-hours medical care: development of, similarities and differences in the Nordic countries".
