How to make medicine great sustainable again? The Centre for Medical Ethics will be hosting an open seminar on the problem of medical overactivity. The seminar also marks CME’s Professor Bjørn Hofmann’s 60^th anniversary.  

Hvert annet år avholder Senter for medisinsk etikk et todagers kurs for leger i alders- og sykehjemsmedisin, fastleger samt kommune- og fylkesleger.

Cand.med. Lars Hestmark at Institute of Health and Society will be defending the thesis “Implementation of guidelines on family involvement for persons with psychotic disorders – A cluster randomised trial with mixed methods evaluation” for the degree of PhD (Philosophiae Doctor).

Cand.med. Lars Hestmark at Institute of Health and Society will give a trial lecture on the given topic: “Pros and cons of applying the evidence-based medicine paradigm in the implementation of complex interventions in mental health care”

Master Heidi Marie Karlsen at Institute of Health and Society will be defending the thesis “Hva kan vi lære av erfaringer med å delta i etikkdrøftinger? En kvalitativ studie fra etikkomiteer i norsk kommunehelsetjeneste” for the degree of PhD (Philosophiae Doctor). The public defence will be held in Norwegian.

Master Heidi Marie Karlsen at Institute of Health and Society will give a trial lecture in Norwegian on the given topic: “Helsepersonells moralske stress: i spenning mellom befolkningens verdier og forventninger til helsehjelp og helsetjenestens muligheter”

Senter for medisinsk etikk arrangerer årlig et nasjonalt høstseminar for medlemmer av kliniske etikk-komiteer (KEK) i spesialist-helsetjenesten. Seminaret bidrar til erfaringsutveksling og kompetanseheving. Årets hovedtema er døden i vårt moderne samfunn, og hvordan våre holdninger til døden påvirker oss i rollen som pasient, pårørende og behandler.

M.A. Shereen Cox at Institute of Health and Society will be defending the thesis “Ethics and Compliance post-clinical trial approval: The Role of Research Ethics Committees” for the degree of PhD (Philosophiae Doctor).

M.A. Shereen Cox at Institute of Health and Society will give a trial lecture on the given topic: “What are the challenges posed by defining and assessing or measuring the effectiveness of IRBs or RECs in protecting human subjects?”

Hvert år arrangerer Senter for medisinsk etikk et innføringskurs i praktisk etikk i helsetjenesten. Et sentralt tema for kurset er: Hvordan jobbe med etikk i praksis?
