New doctoral fellow at Hybrid Technology Hub

Chencheng Wang is the new PhD-student in the UiO:Life Science Convergence project ABINO.

Chencheng Wang studied was a joint master student at the Stem Cell Center of Tongji University and has a master’s degree in Genetics from Nanchang University. His main research focused on neurodevelopment and familiar with CRISPR/Cas and Talen gene-editing systems. He has reported generated hES cell lines that can track cholinergic and dopaminergic neurons during the differentiation process effectively, provided tools to study neurodevelopment and neurological diseases.

After graduating, Chencheng worked as a scientist in Abbott Rapid Diagnostic Co. Ltd and i-Reader Biotech Co., Ltd, developing new diagnosis devices based on immune technology.

As a new Ph.D. student in Hybrid Technology Hub, he will under Hanne Scholz’s supervision, use his experience in cell models and work closely with other project members from HTH, the Department of Musicology and the Department of Physics to develop future models for treatment and cure of diabetes.

In his spare time, Chencheng likes cycling and climbing.
