Organoids would be treated with drugs, and the drugs and resulting metabolites would be extracted from the bottom of the wells using electromembrane extraction (EME). EME allows for very cleans samples to enter a mass spectrometer, enabling robust pharmacokinetic studies.The first author of the paper is PhD student Frøydis Sved Skottvoll, and the corresponding author is Professor Steven Ray Wilson. It was published in Analytical Chemistry, the top-ranked journal in its field.
