Igor obtained his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from the Institute of Developmental Biology and Biomedical Sciences at the University of Warsaw in Poland. During that time, he completed internships at Mossakowski Medical Research Centre Polish Academy of Sciences and in the Department of Physiology, Development, and Neuroscience at the University of Cambridge, UK. In 2018 he started his Ph.D. studies at the University of Montpellier and Centre de Recherche en Biologie cellulaire de Montpellier in France as a Marie Curie fellow in European Research Training Network “UbiCODE”. During that time, he focused on chemical biology approaches that allowed him to study the NEDD8 pathway. Moreover, he also was interested in NEDD8 regulated cellular responses to the proteotoxic stress.

At the beginning of November, Igor joined the Krauss Group at UiO and OUS as a postdoctoral fellow. Joining the HTH team, he will be focusing on developing supportive bedding that will be compatible with long-term culturing of gastruloids. This will be later used to induce vascularization of mouse or human-derived gastruloids that will allow longer culturing in vitro and eventually will broaden our knowledge about early-stage organ development.
