Procedure for disposal

Animal carcasses must be sealed in basg before they are disposed of in yellow toxic waste containers that are placed in the freezer in Room 0111 (waste department in the basement).

Biological material is disposed of in closed contained in toxic waste (closed containers to prevent evaporation/odours).

Contaminated plastic equipment is collected in yellow toxic waste containers. Pipette tips that have been in contact with biological material are collected in closed containers (plastic bottles or the like) and are sealed before they are disposed of in yellow toxic waste containers .

Contaminated needles, cannulae and other disposable equipment made of glass must be disposed of in yellow toxic waste containers.
