Summer working hours
Employees in technical/administrative posts governed by the flexitime scheme (with different working hours in the summer and winter respectively), have 7-hour working days from 15th May to 14th September.
Access to the Domus Medica building
The building is closed all day and night from 27th June to 2nd August. This means that you will need to use your UiO access card and code in order to enter the building. No temporary access cards can be issued during this period, so make sure you always have your access card with you.
If you have problems with your UiO access card, please contact the Security Operation Center that is staffed 24 hours a day all year round.
Main reception desk
The main reception desk is closed 5th - 31st July. During this period, no services are available at the main reception desk and it will only function as a reception for deliveries. It will not be possible to apply for access or obtain temporary access cards or keys during this period, and applications for affiliation will not be processed until 2nd August. Similarly, enquiries sent to the email address ekspedisjonen@basalmed.uio.no will not be processed before 2nd August.
Education management/study advisory service
The education management /study advisory service is manned throughout the summer by a temporary member of staff: Stine Kummernes Sandness can be contacted for all enquiries relating to module 1, module 2 and the Master Degree in Clinical Nutrition. Each member of staff has an automated out-of-office email reply informing you when they are on leave and when you should therefore contact Stine. You should expect longer response times than normal during the summer.
HR and HSE
The HR/HSE section is staffed during the whole month of July. Contact personal@basalmed.uio.no for all enquiries relation to HR/HSE during the summmer and the member of staff on duty, will answer to your enquiry.
The Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) coordinator will be available on site until week 29. However: E-mails relating to HSE issues can always be sent to: hms-koordinator@basalmed.uio.no
Purchases
The institute's purchase coordinator is available during the whole summer.Purchasing officers and specialist requisitioners will inform their own groups about how orders will be managed while they are on holiday.
Finance and research support
Staffing in the Finance Section will be reduced from 15th June to 15th August, resulting in longer response times than normal during this period.
From 19th to 30th July (week 29-30), all our project finance officers are on holiday, but there will be a skeleton staff on hand to take care of acute problems that cannot wait. The finance officers will stand in for one another during the remaining summer months and their automated out-of-office replies will inform you of whom to contact.
The research administration staff will be available throughout the summer, except from 19th to 23rd July (week 29).
A reduced number of staff will process reimbursement applications for travel and other expenses throughout the summer.
Internal services
The Electronic Workshop is closed from 19th July to 9th August.
The Mechanical Workshop is closed from 19th July to 9th August.
The IT Department is manned throughout the summer and can be contacted by telephone on 22 85 12 00 or by email to it-hjelp@basalmed.uio.no
The Photo and Graphics service is closed from 19th July to 9th August, open from 2nd August to 8th August and closed again from 9th to 15th August.
The Section Manager for Internal Services is unavailable from 12th to 18th July and from 26th July to 16th August.
Communication and web editing
The Institute´s Communications Adviser/Web publisher is unavailable from 29th June.
No communications and web publishing services are available during the whole of July.

Anatomy bequest program
The anatomy bequest program coordinator is available during the whole summer.
Section for Comparative Medicine
The Section for Comparative Medicine will remain open throughout the summer, though please expect some reduction in staffing levels. Access to the Section is restricted and must be applied for using this online form (in Norwegian).
