Chromatin Biology
Chromatin structure, epigenetics, and other gene regulatory processes play an integral part in a cell's response to developmental and environmental stimuli. Many chronic diseases are characterized by epigenetic reprogramming and deregulation of gene expression.
We study
Epigenetic mechanisms during stem cell differentiation in vitro and in vivo approaches (Eskeland ).Chromatin structure and transcription factor regulation in cancer , by integrating ChiP, single cell ATAC, and RNA-sequencing data, visualized with custom-made, open-source programs (Eskeland ).The effect of xenobiotic signaling on gene regulation in skeletal muscle , using cell cultures, mouse models, and human cohort samples (Ruzzin ).Chromatin modifications and genome organization during multi-lineage stem-cell differentiation in normal and laminopathy contexts (Collas/Sæther ).3-dimensional chromatin organization , using high-throughput chromatin interaction data, microscopy and in-house designed computational tools (Collas ).
