Achievements

Dietary assessment instruments

We have developed several different dietary assessment instruments which have been used in many large and small studies by researchers at our own department and other national partners. Moreover, we have used a large amount of effort to secure the quality of these instruments using different strategies of validation design.

National dietary surveys

The national dietary surveys and the in depth analysis of these data, which we have been responsible for has been very valuable for the current national public health strategies (several white papers), and internationally for EFSA.

Understanding of mechanisms behind food habits

Moreover, the attempt to understand more of the complex multifactorial mechanism behind the development of food habits, physical activity habits and weight changes in the period from school age into adolescents may be of potential importance in the future public health arena.
