International Overdose Awareness Day 2014

Sunday August 31st marked the International Overdose Awareness day. SERAF - the Norwegian Center for Addiction Research was present at the event at Eidsvoll Square in front of the Parliament.

This International Overdose Awareness day aims to raise awareness of overdoses, acknowledge the grief felt by those effected, and spread information about overdose prevention.

This year in Oslo the International Overdose Awareness Day was marked with an event at Eidsvoll Square in front of the Norwegian Parliament Stortinget. The Minister of Health and Care Services, Bent Høie and the Mayor of Oslo, Fabian Stang was among the speakers at the event.

SERAF - The Norwegian Center for Addiction Research was present at the event. Here researchers from SERAF discussed current research projects, and distributed and demonstrated the use of nalokson nasal spary, a drug that can prevent opioid overdoses.
