A research based evaluation of the HAT-project will take place in parallel to the introduction of the treatment and SERAF will lead the evaluation together with clinical/research partners in Oslo and Bergen.

In addition, the evaluation will include collaboration with Center for Alcohol and Drug Research, Aarhus University, and the Norwegian patient organization proLARNett (national patient organization for OMT in Norway).

The research based evaluation of the introduction of HAT into OMT in the two major cities in Norway will be based on multidisciplinary research, including, qualitative, quantitative and registry based research.

The approach will be to follow the clinical population recruited to HAT as a dynamic observational cohort study.

SERAF aims to generate new knowledge of the effects of HAT as part of OMT, and the research team looks forward to the collaboration with clinical and research partners as well as the included patients and the staff at the clinics.
