The LAR Conference is a well-established platform for sharing experience and expertise in providing high-quality services to individuals with substance abuse problems.
Since its inception in 2000, the conference has consistently brought together professionals from across Norway who specialize in this field. Originally known as the "National Methadone Conference," the conference has grown and adapted to encompass a wider range of topics reflecting the evolving landscape of substance abuse treatment.
Today, the LAR conference is one of the largest gatherings in Norway dedicated to substance use research, attracting participants from various sectors within the addiction and substance abuse field.
From its early focus on opioid maintenance treatment (OMT), the conference has expanded its scope to cover a diverse array of subjects relating to substance abuse.
This year's conference places a particular emphasis on OMT and overdose prevention, aligning with the newly revised national clinical guidelines for opioid dependence treatment and the ongoing development of a national overdose strategy.
