We measure changes in bone density and composition in the body, both in individuals with osteoporosis and in others exposed to significant stress on the musculoskeletal system, for instance from cancer treatment.
This technique can be based on x-rays or CT and is called DXA - Dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry.
Research goals
Our research goal is to further improve surgical procedures and implants in the musculoskeletal area, as well as measurement methods for disease progression, such as cartilage wear, bone loss, changes in body composition - in order to enhance understanding of disease mechanisms and improve treatment options.
The group provides support to researchers in various fields and offers guidance to doctoral candidates.
