Research Network for Avoidant Personality Disorder

Avoidant personality disorder (AvPD) is a very common disorder but has been neglected in terms of empirical research, also internationally. For example, there is a lack of development and evaluation of treatment that focuses specifically on this type of personality problem.

The research network for AvPD was established in 2017 to contribute to more and better research on issues related to AvPD through contact and stimulation for research collaboration. Annual one-day seminars will be organized to discuss projects and project plans. The network is led by professor and senior physician Theresa Wilberg at the Section for Treatment and Research, Department of Research and Innovation, Division of Mental Health and Addiction, Oslo University Hospital, and also member of the Research Group for Personality Psychiatry at UiO and OUS. The network is national and consists of researchers and clinicians interested in research from many institutions and treatment units in Norway.
