Controversies in gout – thinking beyond the joint

In this open lecture, Professor Daniel H. Solomon will cover current clinical controversies in gout, focusing on implications of the disease beyond the joint.

Daniel H. Solomon, MD, MPH, is a professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School and Chief of the Section of Clinical Sciences in Rheumatology at Brigham and Women's Hospital, where he also is co-appointed in the Division of Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacoeconomics. The focus of his research is clinical trials, health services research, quality of care, and pharmacoepidemiology as it pertains to rheumatic diseases and osteoporosis. Prof. Solomon is the editor-in-chief of Arthritis and Rheumatology.

Solomon is a visiting professor in the REMEDY Center for treatment of Rheumatic and Musculoskeletal Diseases, a center funded by the Research Council of Norway and the Olav Thon Foundation. Diakonhjemmet Hospital is the host institution for REMEDY.
