About the project
This is particularly the case for treatment of substance abuse.
This study will look at the effect of using horses in therapy with young drug abusers in addition to the usual therapy, and whether it can help patients remain in treatment longer, whether fewer patients drop out and whether the outcome is better than normal treatment alone.
The study is being carried out between 2011-14 by PhD student and therapist Ann Kern.
Project partners: Head Therapist Jeanette Lysell, Gaustad Stables, Oslo University Hospital, Dr Espen Walderhaug (PhD), YATEP.
