People living with IBD are very interested in diet, but little is known about the impact of diet on inflammation and symptoms of disease.
Diet and risk of malnutrition
It is a lack of knowledge about specific dietary advice for patients with IBD, which can lead to them following self-imposed dietary restrictions.This can increase the risk of malnutrition and deficiency conditions.
Aim of research
The purpose of this study is to develop knowledge about the dietary patterns and nutritional status of adult patients newly diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), as well as associations between dietary factors and symptoms, disease activity, and inflammation markers.
