Infusion, catheterization and suturing room (“The suturing room”, B2.1008)

Subcutaneous injection

• Teaching:
  You will be taught this in the 5th semester and the 11th/12th semesters.

• Self-training:
  Equipment to practise this is ready on the counter and/or in the cupboards in the examination room.

Venous blood sampling

• Teaching:
  You will be taught this in the 3rd, 5th and 10th semesters.

• Self-training:
  Equipment to practise this is ready on the table in the examination room. See video of venous blood sampling.

Simple wound suturing

• Teaching:
  You will be taught this in the 4th semester, and continue in the 10th, 11th and 12th semesters.

• Self-training:
  You can practise suturing on rubber arms. All necessary equipment will be found in the cupboards.

Inserting a peripheral venous catheter

• Teaching:
  You will be taught this in the 5th and 10th semesters.

• Self-training:
  Equipment to practise this is ready on the table in the examination room.

Urinary catheterization

• Teaching:
  You will be taught this in the 5th and 10th semesters.

• Self-training:
  Models on which to practise this are ready on the high counter in the examination room. For the time being, Foley catheters and catheterization sets must unfortunately be procured by those wishing to practise on the models.
