The CLP regulation and the GSH system

The CLP Regulation is the new European regulation on classification, labeling and packaging of chemical substances and mixtures  which is based on the United Nations' Globally Harmonized System (UN GHS). This implies new pictograms, hazard and precaution statement and signal words.

Important information

Many of the new CLP pictograms are similar to the existing system. But today's black symbols on an orange background are replaced and redesigned, given shape and colour in black, white and red.

What's new?

  • The Hazard Pictograms - replace the old hazard symbols
  • The Hazard and Precautionary Statements (H/P) - replace the old risk and safety phrases (R/S)
  • Danger and Warning (fare og advarsel) - are new signal words
