Handling biological material

The organic material NCMM receive from humans may be infected.

Because of the increase in viral hepatitis and HIV-infected patients, all human material (tissue, blood, etc.) is therefore considered as potentially infective. The same rules also regulate the handling of blood products, as Buffy coats, from “healthy persons”. It is most important to avoid blood spill both during your work in the sterile bench and possibly further work as centrifugation etc.

No one at NCMM can handle human material before they are familiar with the instructions for handling human biological materials
