We develop computational and experimental approaches to understand the genetic basis of cancer, the somatic evolution of cancer cells, and molecular mechanisms that drive tumor growth. Our long-term aim is to improve diagnosis, prognosis, and therapeutic recommendations for young patients with cancer, in particular children with aggressive brain tumors. Our current focus is centered around the following research topics:
- Origin and evolution of malignant brain tumors in children
- Development of new approaches for rapid diagnostics of pediatric brain tumors
- Precision medicine for patients with pediatric-type diffuse high-grade gliomas
