The two-day retreat provided an arena for the more than 70 participants to come together for networking and sharing knowledge. The program included talks from Associate Investigators, group leaders, postdocs and PhD students, and covered a range of topics within the field of molecular medicine.
In addition, the newly established NCMM Trainee committee organized a round table discussion on career development between trainees and NCMM alumni. The trainee committee was put together to organize scientific, social and career-focused events for PhD students and postdocs within NCMM.
– Our first event was a round table discussion, where NCMM alumni presented their perspectives on career paths. The discussion lasted around 1.5 hour with panelists offering an updated outlook on the variety of trajectories they experienced after they left the institute. Trainees welcomed the event and found the insights from the panelists' experiences quite enriching and thought-provoking, says Vipin Kumar, one of the committee members.
The current committee members are Vipin Kumar, Oline Eriksen Rio, Weiwei Li, Celina Marie Wiik, Hemanga Gogoi and Ladislav Hovan.
In the evening, a poster session laid the foundations for engaging discussions as PhD students and postdocs presented their most recent data. Prizes for the best posters were awarded to Ieva Rauluseviciute, and Ahmad Ali Ahmad.

Taking advantage of the warm summer weather, social activities were arranged outside by the docks, where teams worked together to solve a range of tasks. The games were organized by the social committee (Celina Marie Wiik, Oline Eriksen Rio, Hemanga Gogoi, Ole Magnus Fløgstad, Tatiana Belova, Elham Shojaeinia, Rafael Riudavets Puig and Nikoline L.
