SHEtalk: How to prevent and prepare for pandemics at the national and international level by Dr Helena Legido-Quigley

This presentation will provide evidence on the COVID-19 response in 28 countries and will also provide an analysis of the challenges experienced at the global level. Adopting a multisectoral and multidisciplinary approach Helena Legido-Quigley will present evidence from her research conducted through the pandemic under the umbrella of the Independent Panel for Pandemic Preparedness and response. She will focus on comparative analysis of responses and will provide a set of recommendations for moving forward at the national and global level. Her presentation will conclude with some suggestions for future research on pandemic prevention, preparedness and response.

Dr Helena Legido-Quigley is Associate Professor at National University of Singapore. She is also Affiliate Professor at Center for Sustainable Healthcare Education, University of Oslo. She works on implementation and development of health policy on quality of health and ehealth.

What are SHEtalks

SHEtalks are a serial of informal research seminars held at Center for Sustainable Healthcare Education, University of Oslo. SHEtalks are research lunch lectures. The spring 2023 program was put together by researcher Gabriela Saldanha. Seminars take place at Thursdays at noon (GTM+1) unless otherwise specified. They may be delivered and attended in person or via zoom.
