2022 has indeed been an eventful year for SHE. Collaboration with other entities has increased, a new unit is established and grants are awarded.

As the year is coming to an end we are happy to sum up some of the main events and developments through 2022:

  • Our students! Very special thanks go to our students for their tremendous work towards a better integration of sustainability in their education. We have also been honored to welcome visiting scholars and students from different corners of the world such as Ethiopia, South Korea, Iran, and Serbia. And the World Health Organization (WHO) has invited our centre and students to join forces and explore global gender related health issues.
  • Thanks also to the affiliation between SHE and the European University alliances offering research and educational activities through collaboration with leading European universities. We are also happy to mention the productive and increased collaboration with our sister universities in Norway.
  • A specific event for us was when Professor Trish Greenhalgh received the Honorary Doctorate from the University of Oslo in August. She is professor at Oxford University, and an enthusiastic and exceptionally energetic Affiliate Professor at SHE.
  • The Dean has been instrumental in strengthening The Faculty of Medicine's sustainability education and research and established the new unit SUSTAINIT. This unit will offer SHE fantastic possibilities for strengthened collaboration with Center for Global Health and Center for Pandemics.
  • Last but not least: Today we received the good news that SHE has been awarded a grant from UiO: Democracy to explore the Medicalisation of Democratic Rights in the Debate about Abortion through research and education based on the Oslo Medical Corpus. We are happy that this unique digital resource that has been built in collaboration with students at SHE and the international Geneaologies of Knowledge network under Affiliate prof. Mona Bakers leadership, is spread and used for new purposes.

We want to express our gratitude to ALL of you for participating and supporting the development of our centre of excellence in education. The results are  and can clearly see how we will set ourselves up for further growth.

We are sending you all our Warmest wishes for Christmas and New Year, best from the SHE-team Eivind, Kristin & Trine
