From resistance to friction: promoting action on antimicrobial resistance through analysis of complex global-local connections

This project aims to develop new frameworks for action on the issue of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) by drawing insights from complexity theory and thinking.

About the project

A complexity framework for action on AMR supports the analysis of multiple and interrelated factors involved in the development of resistance, while developing concepts and tools for engagement and change.

Through ethnographic and theoretical research, this project explores the connections and frictions between global universals (aspirations, policy, knowledge) and contextual realities (social, political, economic, cultural, religious, historical) and proposes the mobilization of conflicts and disagreements as drivers of action.
