Digital Platforms for Disease Surveillance and Control: Best Practices Case Studies from Asia (DMgtAsia)

This project will develop course content for digital disease surveillance and control, building on best practice case studies from Asia.

About the project

DMgtAsia is a 3-year project to develop digitally enabled course modules for:

  • Digital Disease Surveillance
  • Digital Global Health Policy
  • Public Health Informatics
  • Epidemic, Pandemic and Outbreak Management
  • Disease Control and Management Systems
  • Lab Sciences and Health Data Analytics
  • Antimicrobial Stewardship, Policy Development, and Implementation

This project is led by Sundeep Sahay from the Department of Informatics (IFI), UiO and partners with SHE, UiO and Indian research institutions including Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Delhi, BITS Pilani, and Sri Chitra Institute of Medical Sciences and Technology (SCIMST), Kerala. KAIST is the partner from South Korea.

Together we will develop best practice case studies that can feed into the development of relevant content. The mechanism for this development is student and staff mobility across partner institutions, with the aim of building multidisciplinary content.
Course content developed will be digitized into online learning platforms using the informatics expertise of IFI and HISP India.

Modules developed will be appropriate for both online and face-to-face delivery and will be the responsibility of different institutions. The modules will be "open" and made available to any institution wishing to use them.
